
The Värendsleden is a 120 km-long canoe trail stretching from Asa in the north, along lakes Helgasjön, Salen and Åsnen and finally through the river Mörrumsån down in the south. The trail offers various canoeing with both lakes and rivers, through calm waters and rapid rivers. The lake Åsnen part leads through a fantastic archipelago. Doing the entire canoe trail takes about 7 days but you can also paddle shorter segments, day trips or just a short tour.
Preserve nature for future generations
The Värendsleden is passing through areas with high preservation values and a rich bird life. Many areas are bird sanctuaries and it is vitaly important not to disturb wildlife. The part of the Värendsleden leading through Lake Åsnen shouldn't be traveled on without a detailed map over the Åsnen area where the trail and all protected areas are marked. The map is available in tourist offices and at most canoe rental agencies.
