Stockholm became the national winner of the Earth Hour City Challenge.

The finalists were Växjö, Eskilstuna and Stockholm.
Finalists and winners were selected by a international jury which includes representatives from ICLEI and UN agencies sat through. The international jury was very impressed by the Swedish municipalities, Växjö and Eskilstuna got honorable mention.

Deserves recognition for its consistent and ambitious vision for transitioning toward a 100 % renewable energy future, and for the implementation of actions to realize that vision. The city is committed to be fossil fuel free by 2030, and has already achieved a large share of renewables in the city's energy mix – an excellent role model for cities around the globe!
