A multitude of experiences
It is easy to grow and develop in Växjö – both for companies and for people. Few towns of Växjö’s size can offer a comparable comprehensive choice of cultural and entertainment activities.
Växjö Concert Hall is, for example, one of the country’s biggest, where Musica Vitae – Sweden’s most vibrant strings – offer chamber music of world class. Regionteater Blekinge Kronoberg (The Bleking & Kronoberg Regional Theatre) is one of the largest and most active in the country with innovative children’s and youth theatre.
Every Autumn, Linneateater produces a new musical and a number of theatre productions. Växjö Culture School, with its many performances, puts a positive spotlight on the joy of dance and playing music for young people.
Växjö City offers exciting shopping, snug cafés and other interesting meeting places. The gourmet can also eat his fill in any one of Växjö’s long list of restaurants. In the middle of the town lies Lake Växjö encircled by leafy green paths and walkways. A stone’s throw from the lake is the Emigrantinstitut (The Swedish Emigrant Institute), unique in the world which is located adjacent to Småland’s Museum – Sweden’s Glass Museum.
On the periphery of the town there are several large shopping centres.

The sporting town of Växjö, with its numerous enthusiasts and fine facilities is well known. Here you will find Öster Football Club and Växjö Lakers Ice Hockey Club. Växjö Tennis Centre has a world wide reputation as a nursery for the Swedish tennis elite. Växjö athletics has also won a great many medals – both in Sweden and the rest of the world – most recently thanks to Olympic and World Heptathlon champion Carolina Klüft.
Several popular golf courses and a large number of sport and open air recreation facilities close at hand provide excellent opportunities for exercise. For those wishing to enjoy the open air life, the close proximity to beautiful natural scenery and Lake Helga, with its idyllic inland archipelago, really add to the quality of life.
